Your first collection
Open Discover collections and shuffle to meet a prehistoric animal. Choose Collect & favorite when you want to keep that adult. Your collection also includes prehistoric insects, fish and marine reptiles, with their scientific identities shown in the linked exhibits.
You can explore as a guest in this browser, or sign in with Google for an account collection across devices. Browsing a research profile or saving it to the Reading list does not automatically collect its game animal.
Two new adults per UTC day
Each successful claim of a new adult uses one of your two daily claims. The allowance resets at midnight UTC. Keeping an adult you already own uses no new claim, and a failed save does not spend one.
Shuffling is unlimited, including after you use your claims. You can keep looking, read an exhibit or plan your next collection. A mate you do not yet own is a new adult and uses the same daily allowance when collected.
Find a mate and make a pair
From Favorites, choose Find mate on an owned favorite. This selects its counterpart for the encounter search and improves its chance of appearing; it does not promise the next result. If you already own both variants, favorite both instead of starting another search.
Choose Make a pair once both variants of the same animal are collected and favorited. The male and female labels, colors and pairing are fictional game designs. They do not establish real fossil evidence for sexual differences or mating behavior.
Care for a pair, then its egg
Care uses the timezone saved with your profile, while adult claims use UTC. Each pair or egg can receive one care check per eligible calendar date. Missed days keep the care already completed: there is no streak to lose.
Game eggs, care days and baby designs are fictional. They also represent animals for which the scientific profile discusses live birth. Use the research dossier for biological claims.
- Pair care. Open Pairs in your collection and use Care for pair on three different calendar dates. A new pair can receive its first care check on the day you create it.
- Egg care. After the third pair-care day, the egg appears in Eggs. Egg care begins on the calendar date after it is laid. Your first egg needs three care days; later eggs need ten.
- Hatching. Complete the egg's care checks to hatch its saved baby appearance. Find the reward in Babies, where you can replay the hatch and open its browser companion.
Keep your creature collection
Guest progress belongs to this browser and website address. Closing a tab does not deliberately erase it, but clearing browser data can. Favorites includes Save & backup, where you can export a JSON copy to keep on your device.
An account collection opens across devices when you sign in to the same account. Wait for confirmation that an action saved. If storage or an account request fails, the website reports the failure rather than treating the change as durable progress.
Collecting is a beta feature, and progress or rewards may be lost in future updates. Keep a backup if you want a separate copy. Check the privacy page before importing an earlier browser collection or managing your account.
A dinosaur collector can be a fossil explorer, too
Follow an animal's research-profile link to its readable summary, nine-field dossier, image galleries and original sources. The game artwork gives you a creature to collect; the dossier explains what the reviewed evidence supports and what remains uncertain.
Use the Reading list for exhibits you want to revisit. It is separate from adult ownership, pairs and hatch rewards. Educational profiles remain readable without JavaScript; collecting, care and saving use JavaScript.
